The MTech in Computer Science & Engineering is meant for graduates with good CSE/IT background, who are enthusiastic to be catalysts and part of the continuously evolving digital world. The program aims at creating a talent pool and technology leaders to take up future challenges of the technology driven world and to come at par with the competition arising at the global level. It intends to prepare the students to pursue careers inIT/Electronics industry or to start innovative technology-based startups and contribute to 'Digital India', 'Make in India', 'Startup 10K' and such similar initiatives.
This program provides the foundation to impart perspective of the advanced technologies in Computer Science. The proposed program consists of four semesters. The first year syllabus is aimed at providing a solid conceptual foundation of the recent developments in various frontier domains of Computer Science and Engineering. To provide a stepping stone for the implementation of the concepts, sufficient weightage is assigned to the laboratory work as well.
In the second year students can choose various technology tracks for the project and research work. They are supposed to carry out case studies, internship, projects and R&D work, etc. They will be encouraged to take up live problems and innovative projects infusing spirit of entrepreneurship. They are expected to work on case studies and undergo internship at an external organization. All this will provide them with the opportunities to develop in-depth understanding of advance technologies and their application in Government and Corporate scenarios.
MTech in Material Science and Technology is a challenging inter disciplinary program offering considerable variety and career opportunities across a wide range of industry sectors. The course has been designed to meet the requirements of industry and allow progression towards professional chartered status.
Through a judicious combination of lectures, labs and case studies, students develop a thorough understanding of the properties and capabilities of metals, ceramics, polymers and composites, which can then be applied to a wide range of industrial contexts including iron and steel making, automotive, power generation and distribution,aerospace, IT and manufacturing amongst many others.
The OP Jindal University is surrounded by many industries of sponge iron, steel, power, cement, structural steel and ceramic including its sister concern JSPL, JPL, NSPL and SSD in which students can pursue their important rudiments of academic like industrial visit, case study and problem solving, research series seminar and project work.

This Material Science and Technology course is designed to give the learner a wide overview of materials and processes used to transform them.
With a view towards developing both science and engineering skills, the program curriculum has been framed so as to incorporate and deliver on experimental, analytical, statistical, and computational tools & educational components of globally accepted standards in the materials discipline. The core courses include: Materials Science, Metallurgy, Materials Thermodynamics, Materials Characterization Techniques, Nanotechnology, and Polymer & Ceramic Materials. While the labs cover important aspects of synthesis, testing, and characterization. The electives are structured in such a way as to offer opportunities for acquisition of specialized and advanced knowledge in sub-disciplines. Students have the opportunity to pursue their projects either in-house or outside in reputed industrial or R&D institutions.

M.Tech in Manufacturing Technology and Automation is a professional full time postgraduate engineering master degree program. It is a 2 year course and is divided in 4 semesters. This is an interdisciplinary program and is open for Engineering Graduates with Mechanical, Production, Automobile, Industrial, Manufacturing, Metallurgical and Mechatronics Engineering backgrounds. This is an interdisciplinary program and is open for Engineering Graduates with Mechanical, Production, Automobile and Electrical & Electronics backgrounds. The University being located in close proximity to Jindal Thermal Power Plant, the program provides bright prospects to students to gain practical knowledge of erection, testing, commissioning, operation & maintenance of modern power plants. It has been designed in such a way that at the completion student should have one year of industrial experience in Power Plants.
The curriculum and pedagogy for MTech in Power Plant Engineering and Energy Management is brought to enable students with different backgrounds to understand the different facets of energy engineering. Students will be exposed to the status of energy resources, its interaction with environment, different renewable energy sources and technologies, different techniques and technologies for energy management and energy conservation along with their economic aspects. Scope of Power Electronics and Power System:
Power Electronics and Power System are the two highest demanded domains in Electrical & Electronics Engineering field. Power Electronics is also one of the most vital research and development topic in industries and institutions. The field of Power Electronics and Power System is changing very rapidly. Developments of advanced topologies of electrical machines have also widened the scope of power electronic controllers with smart-grid. This program focuses on imparting education in the field of power electronics and its applications in electrical machines, drives, industrial equipment, and power systems.
The proposed program provides the breadth of domains covering all the layers of Power electronics and power system. This course includes subjects like Advance power electronics, SMPS, Converters, Power system design & analysis, Relay Technologies, smart-grid and energy management, etc.
The proposed program consists of four semesters. This course is designed to help the students improve their experience in structural engineering. Issues addressed in the course will help familiarize the student with common challenges in the design office and on the site.
M.Tech. in Structural Engineering involves advanced study of the course’s components such as Structural Mechanics, Finite Element Analysis, Structural Dynamics, Structural Reliability and Optimization, Reinforced and Pre-Stressed Concrete, Steel Structures, Design for Wind And Earthquake, Tall Buildings And Towers, Computer Applications In Structural Engineering, etc.
Scholarships and teaching/research assistantships are available for deserving meritorious students.Minimum requirement for scholarships is a score of 75% and above in the Qualifying exam. Each scholarship application will be evaluated by the Scholarship Committee. The scholarships are given on an annual basis. To continue the scholarships after the first year, the student will have to maintain a minimum prescribed academic performance during the course of the programme.
Assistantships require students to commit minimum of 8 hours of work per week outside regular academic work, assisting professors on teaching or research projects. Typically an assistantship could pay a stipend of Rs. 2,500 to 5,000 per month depending on the type and quality of work undertaken.
Continuation of assistantship during each semester is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance and satisfactory performance in the discharge of responsibilities assigned under the scheme.
