The Centre for Social Empowerment works towards socio-economic empowerment, ensuring better quality of life and equality amongst various sections of society. It focuses on livelihood enhancement, especially in rural communities. The Centre engages all stakeholders—students, faculty, NSS, NGOs, and local communities.

CSE at the University encourages students and faculty to embody enlightened leadership and build confidence in themselves and the community.

Jindal University and Centre for Social Empowerment Organised “SHARE A SMILE” programme in association with the Department of Civil Engineering, for the kids of Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih (adopted village) on 22nd Jan 2025. The wonderful volunteers had the privilege of visiting Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, where they not only spent time with the amazing children but also donated essential grocery items to support the school. Volunteers brought joy and donated essentials to visually impaired children at Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir.

Plantation Drive

23rd August 2024

"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” This quote by Nelson Henderson emphasizes selfless acts and highlights the importance of kindness and generosity. It encourages thinking of future generations. The truth is- 'trees are the key to a healthy planet.' "On the occasion of National Space Day, NSS and Centre for Social Empowerment, OPJU organised a plantation drive 'Ek Vriksh Maa Ke Naam', at Swami Atmanand Utkrisht Higher Secondary School, Chharratangar and planted 50 plants. NSS, OPJU volunteers and students of the School participated enthusiastically in the Plantation Drive. "Dr S. K. Singh expressed his gratitude to Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, Dr R. D. NSS and Centre for Social Empowerment, O.P. Jindal University organised NASHA MUKTI ABHIYAN- SAY NO TO DRUGS. Under this programme Essay Writing Competition on Drug Addiction Among Youths: Prevention and Control was organised. The objective of Nasha Mukti Abhiyan was centered on creating a drug-free society by raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and its consequences, particularly among youth. The campaign aimed at implementing preventive measures in educational institutions and communities. Through continued awareness and support, the campaign aimed at fostering a healthier society free from the grip of addiction. 7. Education International yoga day was celebrated at OPJU on 21st June 2024. The employees and staff members of OPJU enthusiastically participated in the Yoga Session and learnt about the objectives and benefits of Yoga in daily life. The Hon’ble Vice-Chancellor of OPJU Dr R. D. Patidar also participated in the session and motivated the employees to practice Yoga daily for a healthy life. Education Essay Writing Competition on the World Population DayOn the occasion of World Population Day (11 July 2024), RED RIBBON CLUB, OPJU organised an Essay Writing Competition in Hindi and English both, on THE POPULATION OF INDIA: BOON OR BANE for the students of OPJU. 6 Health, Nutrition & Education OPJU, Raigarh in association with JSPFoundation conducted a Workshop on Women’s Health & Hygiene forthe girls of Govt. Pre-Middle School, Tumidih on 21st July 2023. Theworkshop was conducted by Dr Debasmita Samal, Sr. Assistant Professor, Schoolof Science. She guided the participants on their personal health and hygienefor good health. Workshop on Women’s Health & Hygiene

OPJU, Raigarh in association with JSP Foundation conducted a Workshop on Women’s Health & Hygiene for the women of Punjipathra on 2nd May 2023. The workshop was conducted by Dr Saumya Singh, Dr Debasmita Samal and Mrs Suchismita Panda. They guided the participants on their personal health and hygiene for Good Health. The packets of Sanitary napkins were given away to all the participants. Total 22 Women participated in the workshop.

Outreach Programme at Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih

The faculty members of OPJU visited Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih (Adopted Village) on 5th May 2023. They interacted with the ptraon, teacher and students. They donated Rice (26 Kg), Toffees and Ivory Sheets for Brail Practice (03) Packets to the Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir.

Clean Campus Campaign at Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir , Amlidih

The students of OPJU visited Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih (Adopted Village) on 8th May 2023 and conducted Clean Campus Campaign. The volunteers interacted with students and cleaned the campus of School. They donated Rice (30 Kg), Drawing Sheets for Brail Practice (50 Nos.) and biscuits & chocolates, etc. to the Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir.

The students of OPJU visited adopted village- Tumidih on 16th May 2023 and organised Clean Village, Save Soil and Safety from Dengue campaign. The volunteers cleaned the village and interacted with the villagers. They discussed with them about the importance of cleanliness, side effects of over use of chemical fertilisers and how to prevent from Dengue.

Outreach Programme at Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih

The students of OPJU visited Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, Amlidih (Adopted Village) on 11th April 2023. The volunteers interacted with students. The volunteers guided the girls (06) about their personal hygiene. They donated Rice (26 Kg), Sugar (5 Kg), Salt (10 Kg) and Ivory Sheets for Brail Practice (02) Packets to the Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir.

NSS & Centre for Social Empowerment, OPJU organised an Online Quiz on National Technological Day. The theme of the Quiz was technological development in India. Total 26 students from various institutions of Chhattisgarh participated in the Quiz. Prizes were distributed to the winners.

NSS and Department of Sports, OPJU organised a programme on International Yoga Day (June 21, 2022). Mr Sambit Sahu, faculty, OPJCC conducted the Yoga Session and 28 persons participated in the session. The Session was co-ordinated by Dr Amit Paras, Dy. Director- Sports, OPJU.
