Students' Grievance Cell


The function of the cell is to look into the complaints lodged by any student and judge its merit. The Grievance Cell is also empowered to look into matters of harassment. Anyone with a genuine grievance may approach the department members in person, or in consultation with the officer in-charge Students' Grievance Cell. In case the person is unwilling to appear in person, grievances may be dropped in writing at the letterbox/suggestion box of the Grievance Cell at the Administrative Block. Grievances may also be sent through e-mail to the officer in-charge of Students' Grievance Cell.

Objective:

The objective of the Grievance Cell is to develop a responsive and accountable attitude among all the stakeholders in order to maintain a harmonious educational atmosphere in the campus.

A Grievance Cell should be constituted for the redressal of the problems reported by the students of the University/Institute with the following objectives:

  • Upholding the dignity of the University/Institute by ensuring a strife-free atmosphere in the campus through promoting cordial student-student and student-teacher relationships.
  • Encouraging students to express their grievances/problems freely and frankly, without fear of being victimized.
  • A suggestion/complaint box is installed in the Administrative Block for anonymous grievance submissions and suggestions for academic/administrative improvements.
  • Advising students to respect one another’s rights and dignity, and exercise restraint and patience in times of conflict.
  • Advising students to refrain from inciting others against students, teachers, or the administration.
  • Advising staff to treat students affectionately and avoid vindictive behavior for any reason.
  • Strict prohibition of ragging in any form inside or outside the institution. Any violations must be urgently reported to the administration.
Scope:

The cell will deal with grievances received in writing from students about any of the following matters:

  • Academic Matters: Issues related to duplicate mark sheets, transfer certificates, conduct certificates, and examination concerns.
  • Financial Matters: Dues and payments for various university services.
  • Other Matters: Concerns regarding sanitation, food quality, transportation availability, or victimization by teachers.
Functions:
  • The cases will be attended promptly upon receiving written grievances from students.
  • The cell will formally review all cases and take necessary action as per university policy.
  • The cell will report to the authorities regarding cases addressed and any pending issues requiring higher-level intervention.
Procedure for Lodging Complaint:
  • Students may write their grievance and drop it into the designated grievance boxes on campus.
  • The Grievance Cell will consider only those complaints that are properly documented with supporting information.
  • The cell will ensure timely resolution of each grievance as per the stipulated time frame.
