Social Empowerment is the most important requirement for the upliftment and progress of our nation. The Centre for Social Empowerment works with an aim to empower rural and needy communities within campus as well as in the society. Visit to Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir

12th August 2024

Dr S. K. Singh, Professor, Dept. Of Humanities Visited NETRAHEEN BAL VIDYA MANDIR, AMLIDIH (ADOPTED VILLAGE) and on the behalf of NSS and CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT, OPJU donated Drawing sheets and grocery items to the school. Essay Competition: Role of Literature in Personality Development

NSS, OPJU organised an ESSAY WRITING COMPETITION ON ROLE OF LITERATURE IN PERSONALITY DEVELOPMENT on 22nd August 2024. The students participated in the competition enthusiastically. Plantation Drive

23rd August 2024

"The true meaning of life is to plant trees, under whose shade you do not expect to sit.” This quote by Nelson Henderson emphasizes selfless acts and highlights the importance of kindness and generosity. It encourages thinking of future generations. The truth is- 'trees are the key to a healthy planet.'

"On the occasion of National Space Day, NSS and Centre for Social Empowerment, OPJU organised a plantation drive 'Ek Vriksh Maa Ke Naam', at Swami Atmanand Utkrisht Higher Secondary School, Chharratangar and planted 50 plants. NSS, OPJU volunteers and students of the School participated enthusiastically in the Plantation Drive.

The NSS Volunteers conducted a Career Counselling Session for the students of Class-8th at Govt. Middle School, Chharratangar on 23rd August 2024. Mr Jeet Jain, Mr Rudra Kashyap, Mr Aditya Jha and Mr Kshitij Chandrakar interacted with the students and advised them to prepare themselves foe a better future and successful life.

Essay Writing Competition Under Nasha Mukti Campaign On The Theme Drug Addiction Among Youths: Prevention And Control

NSS and Centre for Social Empowerment, O.P. Jindal University organised NASHA MUKTI ABHIYAN- SAY NO TO DRUGS. Under this programme Essay Writing Competition on Drug Addiction Among Youths: Prevention and Control was organised. The objective of Nasha Mukti Abhiyan was centered on creating a drug-free society by raising awareness about the dangers of substance abuse and its consequences, particularly among youth. The campaign aimed at implementing preventive measures in educational institutions and communities. Through continued awareness and support, the campaign aimed at fostering a healthier society free from the grip of addiction. Story Writing Competition On The Theme-Dream

NSS AND CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT, O.P. Jindal University, Raigarh organised a STORY WRITING COMPETITION on the theme "DREAM". The students enjoyed the moment and wrote impressive and motivational stories. The First, Second, Third and Consolation prizes were given away to the winners by Prof. Manas Ranjan Mishra. D. Patidar also participated in the session and motivated the employees to practice Yoga daily for a healthy life. Education Essay Writing Competition on the World Population DayOn the occasion of World Population Day (11 July 2024), RED RIBBON CLUB, OPJU organised an Essay Writing Competition in Hindi and English both, on THE POPULATION OF INDIA: BOON OR BANE for the students of OPJU. 5 Health & Nutrition Share-a-SmileProgramme at Netraheen Bal Vidya Mandir, AmlidihThe volunteers of NSS & CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT,OPJU in association with SCHOOL OF MANAGEMENT, OPJU organised 'SHARE A SMILE'programme for the kids of NETRAHEEN BAL VIDYA MANDIR, AMLIDIH ( ADOPTEDVILLAGE). The volunteers along with the faculty members interacted and playedwith the kids and donated Two Ceiling Fans, Water Camper, 50 Drawing sheets,Sweets and fruits to the School. 6 Health E-waste Collectionand Clean Campus Drive at OPJUNSS AND CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT, OPJU in associationwith Department of Mechanical Engineering organised e-WASTE COLLECTION andCLEAN CAMPUS DRIVE at OPJU. The volunteers collected the e-waste and preparedthe list to hand over to the e-waste collection agency. The volunteers alsocleaned inside and outside of the OPJU campus. Dr S. K. NSS, OPJU and CENTREFOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT, OPJU in association with the Department of MechanicalEngineering, OPJU organised A ONE DAY PROGRAMME on CLEANLINESS and CYBERSECURITY at Village-Punjipathra on 7th March 2024. 4. Health The CENTRE FOR SOCIAL EMPOWERMENT, OPJU in association withJSP Foundation and Jindal-Fortis Hospital organised a BLOOD DONATION DRIVE atHEALTH CENTRE, OPJU on 2nd Feb 2024. The kind hearted peopledonated blood and 37 Units collected.
The drive was conducted under guidance of Dr R. D. Patidar (Vice Chancellor,OPJU), Prof. Anurag Vijayawargiya (Registrar, OPJU), Dr S. Das, Dr G. Pre- Middle School, Tumidih on 15thFeb 2024. The volunteers conducted the sessions on Digital Skills Developmentand imparted hands-on training to the students of class-6th, 7th and 8th.
6. Health & Nutrition The students of Computer Science and Engineering, OPJU inassociation with JSP Foundation and NSS conducted a Workshop on WOMEN'SHEALTH AND HYGIENE and sports activities at Govt. Pre-Middle School, Tumidih, Raigarh on 15th Feb 2024.The volunteers conducted the session and discussed with the participantsabout their personal health and hygiene; and motivated them to keepthemselves clean for good health. The volunteers conducted the programme under guidance of Prof. Princy Diwanand Ms Astha.
7. Health & Nutrition The students of Computer Science and Engineering, and NSSvolunteers, OPJU visited NETRAHIN BAL VIDYA MANDIR, Amlidih (Adopted village)on 21st Feb 2024. The volunteers interacted with the students,discussed various issues and donated a 20-litre water camper to the school.
8. Health & Nutrition A Health Check-up Programme at Govt. Higher SecondarySchool, Chharratangar (Adopted village) was organised by CENTRE FOR SOCIALEMPOWERMENT, OPJU in association with JSP Foundation and OPJH, Tamnar on 22ndFeb 2024.
Health Check- up of 250+ Students (class-9th, 10th, 11th & 12th) was doneby eminent Doctors- Dr Harish Gautam and Dr Priya Rai. The Blood Group identification of 217students was also done by the OPJH, Tamnar team. The programme wasinaugurated by Hon'ble Vice Chancellor, OPJU Dr R. D. Patidar in the presenceof Dr Harish Gautam, Dr Priya Rai, School officials and Organising Teammembers. Dr Kavita Patel, Sr. Assistant Professor, School of Science, OPJUco-ordinated the programme successfully.
