Industry 4.0 is new phase in the industrial revolution that focusses on heavily interconnectivity, automation, machine learning and real time data. Industries are being automated for smooth functioning with larger productivity. Also, real time data produced by these industries are large in nature and needs to be analyzed automatically. Therefore, there is a large demand for highly skilled manpower for the industry to sustain this expected rapid growth. The Centre of Excellence in Industry 4.0 (COEI 4.0) is a vital vertical under the Center for Steel Technology and Product Development (CSTPD) has been established at OP Jindal University (OPJU), Raigarh to cater to the needs of the entire Industries.
The objectives and activities of COEI 4.0 will include performing industry relevant academics, research and development on various aspects of interconnectivity, automation, machine learning and real time data; developing highly skilled manpower for industries, providing consultancy to the industry, organizing training programs for refreshing and updating knowledge, organizing international conferences on Industry 4.0 and network with other organizations involved in industry 4.0.
To be innovators and leaders in the field of information technology and better understand the problems and provide suitable solutions related to various issues in IT industries. The main objective of this COEI 4.0 is to develop manpower for data and information management opportunities. This will be achieved by an approach involving rigorous and comprehensive training covering theory, fundamentals and hands-on experience with real-world applications through Industrial collaboration. Data analytics and IOT is gaining prominence in academia and industry. COEI 4.0 opens up several new opportunities in science, engineering, research and Data Science. The aim is to produce trained manpower with a solid foundation of Mathematics, Statistics, and Computer programming and skill sets of Big Data Analytics, Machine Learning and Data Modelling.
